Project 1: We had to take an image of ourselves and change it. So I decided to take a selfie and add some flowers as my eyes, and a creepy eyeball as the mouth. I was going for a weird creepy aesthetic and I feel as though I accomplished this. The design in the background was chosen so that when this eventually gets laser engraved, it will have a unique background.

Project 2: We had to make a logo or monogram to be able to put on a stamp. It was a very unique process, and I learned a valuable lesson of patience. Not everything went great the first time, and we had to make some adjustments to the bed of the laser before I could engrave my logo. Aside from having some issues with the laser, everything came out great. I chose this logo because it has a clean elegant look, and it matches my website logo. It was a great experience to learn how to laser engrave, and we will be doing much more this semester.

Project 3: Public vs Private stamp. For this project we had to pick a book from the fine arts library and find a image that we like to make something similar to make a stamp out of. I chose the book Drawing With Children by Mona Brooks. So I cannot draw at all, so I thought this book might be a unique way for me to create a drawing in the realm of a childlike drawing.

The book is a general overview of the steps needed to take to learn how to draw. The authors main idea is to teach both children and adults to slow down and open your eyes. Drawing take practice and time, but it is to be fun and not something that should cause stress.

For this project, I have chosen to draw a taco-saurus, a dino that looks like a taco. I feel this is the best way I can make a drawing that still relates to the book, considering it is a child’s drawing book. Overall, I am excited to see where this project goes!
